Another one of the helmets that I own that somebody designed with their own cloth sticker.

Logo:  real sticker
Thoughts:  I have now idea if the Pirates ever wore a helmet like this.  The sticker and the Adjustrap dates this helmet around 1969 give or take a few years.  This is the only helmet like this that I have ever seen.  Very rare!

Thoughts:  Hey now, the man to the
right sure did make this helmet look
nice.

Dates used: 1970 - 1986

Thoughts:  Same as above except that the logo is a sticker.

Dates used: Never
Inside of helmet:  Adjustrap
Manufacturer:  Me, literally
Logo:  screen printed
Thoughts:  I just took one of my older Pirates helmets and finally got some rings on it.  This was my third attempt.  Not the greatest, but it will do.

Dates used:  1970 - 86
Inside of helmet:  Adjustrap
Manufacturer:  U.S. Cap Company
Logo:  screen printed
Thoughts:  A duck-billed helmet that is
a variation of the one above.

Dates used: 1970 - 86
Inside of helmet:  Adjustrap
Manufacturer:  Fotoball
Logo:  screen printed
Thoughts:  This is a helmet that
Fotoball put out as a retro series.
After closer inspection of the photo to
the right, this is a closer
representation of what was actually
worn.

Dates used: 1970 - 86
Inside of helmet:  Adjustrap
Manufacturer:  None listed.
Logo:  screen printed
Thoughts:  This is a helmet that
I bought off of the pirates.com website.  It has no air holes and the logo is smaller than normal.

Dates used: 1987 - Present
Inside of helmet:  Adjustrap
Manufacturer:  Sports Product Corp,
A Subsidiary of Laich
Logo:  screen printed
Thoughts:  The all black cap returned
in the 1987 season and is still used
today.  The only thing I'm not for sure
of is if this is also when they changed
the style of the "P" to a bigger size.

Dates used: Never used as a helmet
Logo:  screen printed
Thoughts:  This is another of my "What If?" helmets.  The Pirates wore a home cap like this in 1994.  Kind of strange to see the red in the Pirates uniform.

Dates used: Never used as a helmet
Logo:  screen printed
Thoughts:  This is another of my "What If?" helmets.  The Pirates wore a road cap like this in 1994.  My paint job on this helmet didn't turn out the greatest as you can tell by the photo.

Dates used: Never used
Inside of helmet:  Adjustrap
Manufacturer:  Sports Product Corp,

Logo:  screen printed
Thoughts:  This is the alternate cap
for the Pirates, however, to the best
of my knowledge they have never
worn this helmet during a game.
